For our inquiry about Belonging and NZ history.I have chosen to investigate Double-Hulled waka. Here is some of my research:
2 large hulls equal in length.
The space in between allowed to: Store food,Hunting materials and nets.
Polynesians used natural navigation aids such as: The stars,Ocean currents,Wind patterns and Clouds.
The Chatham Islands(Wharekauri) 800 kilometres east mainland (New Zealand).
This is a sketch of a Double-Hulled Waka.
Different types: waka ra, waka puhara, waka rimu and waka pahi.
